- Description
- The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD) has a requirement to purchase up to 1500 Geiger-Muller (GM) tubes over a three (3) year period of performance. To meet this requirement NSWCCD intends to negotiate a non-competitive procurement with Canberra Industries, Meriden, CT. Canberra Industries, Inc. custom designed the GM tube to meet the Navy ™s specific requirements. The GM tubes are gas filled and the gas mixture controls the functional characteristics of the tube. The exact proportion of the gas mixture is proprietary information owned by the manufacturer, Canberra Industries, Inc. Thus Canberra Industries, Inc. is the only manufacturer who can make the desired GM tube. Award of an Indefinite Quantity/Indefinite Delivery contract is anticipated under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes however interested parties may submit a capability statement within fifteen (15) days after date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Interested parties may forward their capabilities statements to the Government POC referencing RFQ #N00167-12-T-0012.
