- PRINCIPLE CHARACTERISTICS STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS The United States Coast Guard is issuing this sources sought to locate commercial shipyards that have drydocking facility capable of lifting United States Coast Guard Cutter (USCGC) MACKINAW. The principle characteristics of the cutter are listed in the attached page(s). The cutter must have a 3 foot minimum clearance between the keel and the top of the keel blocks during transition into and out of dock. Also, the required keel block height is 8 foot minimum if the Azipods are removed or a 4 foot minimum if not removing the Azipods. If your shipyard has the required drydocking facility that complies with USCG Specification 8634 (attached) to lift USCGC MACKINAW, please submit the information to Ms. Sandra Martinez by COB January 31, 2012.
