- The USDA National Veterinary Science Laboratories in Ames, IA, intend to award a purchase order for a preventative maintenance agreement, on a sole source basis, under the authority of FAR Part 13.106 (b), with Ventana Medical Systems, for preventative maintenance on nine Ventana Nexes IHC Instruments. This preventative maintenance agreement will be procured as a commercial item in accordance with the procedures in FAR Part 12 (Acquisition of Commercial Items) and FAR Part 13 (Simplified Acquisition Procedures). The sole source determination is based on Ventana Medical Systems being the sole source for factory trained labor and maintenance services for all instrumentation manufactured and sold by Ventana Medical Systems. The anticipated total value of the purchase order is $37,800.00 This is not a request for quote. However, all interested parties may contact the Contract Specialist listed below. Sources interested in responding to this requirement must be able to provide compelling evidence that they can obtain/provide a maintenance agreement contract utilizing factory authorized parts and service that will not invalidate equipment warranties for the listed equipment. Responses must be submitted electronically, via email, to Denise.L.Macdonald@aphis.usda.gov. The deadline for the submittal of responses is 2:00 pm central time, January 25, 2012.
