- This Pre-Solicitation Notice is being issued by the United States Army Corps of Engineers - Chicago District to inform interested/potential contractors of the District's imminent issue of an Invitation for Bids to obtain sewer improvements for the "219 SCHERERVILLE PROJECT" located in the CITY OF SCHERERVILLE, INDIANA. PROJECT INFORMATION: Under the contract set, the Contractor will be responsible for the installation of approximately 950 feet of 3 foot by 4 foot box culvert through a residential neighborhood to carry excess runoff to a diversion ditch known as Rohman DItch. The project will also include re-grading of the existing ditch to re-establish the follow line and create a uniform slope. ACQUISITION INFORMATION: Competition for this acquisition is RESTRICTED to SMALL BUSINESSES. The Classification Code for this procurement is North American Industry System Code 237110, which applies a small business size standard in dollars of $33.5M. The estimated magnitude of the proposed procurement is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00 The Invitation for Bids (IFB) Package will be downloadable from the INTERNET ONLY. The project specification files are Portable Document Format (PDF) files and can be viewed, navigated or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Interested Bidders can download the IFB Package from the Internet Site http://www.Fbo.gov. The IFB will be available at the above-mentioned Internet site on 20 January 2012. Bids will be due by 2:00pm CDT on 21 February 2012. In order for contractors to be awarded contracts with the Department of Defense, the contractor must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR); Contractors can access the CCR for free at http://www.ccr.gov. The Government intends to award a firm-fixed price services contract from this acquisition. Request for solicitation packages made by telephone, fax or e-mail will not be honored.
