- The Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) has completed the first and second phases of the Kuali Financial System (KFS) implementation project which provides basic functionality as a Management Information System for finance. KFS is a community supported project that provides a comprehensive suite of financial software designed to meet the needs of all Carnegie Class institutions. Based on Indiana University's Financial Information System (FIS), it is the first of the Kuali projects and incorporates the baseline FIS functionality and approved enhancements, in what has become the Kuali mold: a collaborative approach to design, an open development platform, and a web-based operating environment. NPS desires to expand and enhance the installed system over the next year with the increased functionality and customization requested by the users.
