Description
1.Scope This is not a request for proposals or a request for quotations; it is strictly a Request for Information (RFI). Neither unsolicited proposals nor any other offers will be considered in response to this RFI. Responses to this notice are not offers and will not be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked as proprietary will be handled accordingly. The United States Marine Corps (USMC) has released this RFI to solicit information from industry on approaches, products, and/or services to be provided to the Marine Corps in support of their IT hardware requirements. Responses should address a complete life cycle solution for the USMC, to include proposed new equipment and support services. 2.Description 2.1.Background In accordance with Secretary of the Navy (SECNAV) Instruction 5400.15C, œDepartment of the Navy (DoN) Research and Development, Acquisition, Associated Life-Cycle Management, and Logistics Responsbilities and Accountability, œdated 13 September 2007, Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) has the responsibility to centrally manage the procurement and refreshment of all information technology (IT) hardware. The Marine Corsp Common Hardware Suite (MCHS) program was created to meet IT hardware requirements. 2.2.Purpose The primary purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to gather information on Virtualized Desktop Interface (VDI) Bundles. 2.2.1.Response Format Attachment 1 to this RFI provides a generic specification that the USMC has develop as a possible solution. The USMC requests that Offerors respond to the following: (1)Responses to this RFI shall include comments and/or suggestions on the attached Specification. (2)What options are provided by your company for Installation Services? (3)What factors are taken into consideration during a field installation (i.e. installation environment, power considerations, etc)? (4)What data migration services does your company provide? (i.e. integrating your solution into an existing network architecture which may not have the same equipment as your company) (5)What are typical installation pacakges and data migration packages purchased by commercial customers? 2.3.Response Deadline and Submissions Responses shall be submitted via email to Judy Campbell at mcsc_isi@usmc.mil no later than 19 January 2012 at 1600 EST. Proprietary information, if any, must be clearly marked. To aid the Government in its review and evaluation, please segregate proprietary information. Please be advised that all submissions become Government property and will not be returned. 3.Disclaimer This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked proprietary will be handled accordingly. Responses to the RFI will not be returned. In accordance with FAR 15.202(e), responses to this notice are not an offer and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract.
