Description
Modular Office Workstation Specifications REQUEST FOR INFORMATION General Services Administration- Integrated Workplace Acquisition Center 1.0 Description 1.1 The General Services Administration is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) in support of the Integrated Workplace Acquisition Center (IWAC), in seeking information from prospective suppliers interested in providing Modular Office Furniture workstations to Civilian and Military activities for the United States Government. At this time, IWAC intends to set any eventual procurement aside for small business concerns. 1.2 THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS ONLY. This Request for Information is for planning purposes only and is issued in accordance with FAR Clause 52.215-3. No solicitation document exists at this time. The information provided in the RFI is subject to change and is not binding on the Government. Issuance of this notice does not constitute any obligation on the part of the Government to procure the supplies or to issue a solicitation. In addition, the Government is under no obligation to pay direct or indirect costs or charges that arise as a result of contractor submission of responses to this RFI or the Government's use of such information. 2.0 Statement of Objectives 2.1 PURPOSE: The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of industry practices, interest, capabilities and qualifications of Small Business manufacturers in the furniture industry to provide modular workstations to the Federal Government. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 337214 (non-wood furniture). Attached is a document containing the technical requirements of the aforementioned workstation. Offeror's response to this RFI shall be limited to five (5) pages, please provide the following information: 1. Offeror's name, addresses, point of contact, phone number and email address; 2. Offeror's interest in submitting a proposal in response to the solicitation when it is issued; 3. Offeror's business size per NAIC code 337214 as well as any additional socio-economic categorization (i.e. 8(a), veteran owned, etc); 3. A statement addressing the Offeror's ability to deliver all of the required products on July 1, 2012. 4. In the evaluation portion of this procurement, self-assembly of the workstation will be required and observed by the contracting officer in a designated GSA facility. How much time should be given to assemble a modular workstation? 5. Is Eco-friendly furniture (i.e. GREENGUARD Certified, level®, etc) offered in modular workstations? 6. Do you provide wood grain surfaces for modular workstations? 7. What furniture specifications (ANSI/BIFMA) should be included in the solicitation? 8. Is the specification reflective of commercial manufacturing practices? If not can the specification be amended without compromising the performance of the required products? Any additional pertinent information that would be useful in assisting the Government on any future solicitation that may result from this RFI will be accepted. Please provide the requested information no later than 5:30PM January 27, 2012. Additionally, vendors interested in researching the incumbent products may visit www.gsaglobalsupply.gsa.gov; select the "Browse Products" option; and enter each of the NSN's listed in the draft solicitation into the search box. Anticipated solicitation issuance date is on or about 30 April 2012.
