Description
The FAA is seeking experienced firms to provide all labor and material to accomplish a performance Design/Build (Upgrade) for the Air Traffic Control Tower Elevator at Bishop International Airport, Flint, Michigan. Work consists of but not limited to, the following: 1. Prerequisites: a.The contractor/shall assess the suitability of structure (such as roofing and walls) for supporting equipment loads during the project. The contractor shall provide a report of any deficiency for correction; presentation of an engineered solution; and quotation of solution cost. b.The contractor, shall assess the condition of electrical wiring being re-used and determine its suitability for re-use. The contractor shall comply with the latest version of the National Electric Code and local codes. Any deficiencies, solutions, and quote for the cost, shall be reported.The contractor shall provide electrical hazard safety program in accordance to the latest OSHA regulations for the duration of the project. d.The contractor, with its safety program, shall provide fall protection safety for all workers according to the most current OSHA regulations for the duration of the project. e.Comply with current OSHA and local code requirements for safe lift of all equipment. f.The contractor shall provide temporary cooling and heating necessary for the affected area such as to maintain comfort for working personnel and most importantly to keep critical and essential FAA electronic equipment substantially cool. g.Submit MSDS for approval for all chemicals such as paint, cleaning and sanitizing solutions prior to bringing the material/s on site. 2. Preparatory Work: Contractor shall coordinate all activities, especially in any Air traffic work areas affected, with the RE or COTR and when requiring access to any electrical control panel. 3. All wiring and grounding requirements shall be per the latest National Electric Code (NEC 2008), Drawings, and Specifications including the FAA Specification C-1217f (Electrical Work, Interior). Provide new wiring if required or if existing wiring is unsafe. SCOPE OF WORK: Elevator Upgrade work for the FNT ATCT, Flint, Michigan. 1. Provide all labor and material to accomplish a performance Design/Build (Upgrade) for the FNT ATCT Elevator in accordance with the latest version of ASME A17.1 and Fire Life Safety Code. The attached elevator study reports recommendations shall be followed as a basis of design for the work (but not limited to). 2. The selected/awarded contractor shall submit all drawings, and product submittals per Section 01303 of the specifications. 3. The contractor shall also submit a design for FAA approval to mitigate water infiltration into the elevator pit. INTERESTED FIRMS MUST HAVE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED SIMILAR PROJECTS BOTH IN DOLLAR AMOUNT AND SCOPE OF WORK. Firms that have previously expressed interest in this project will be required to complete the SIR form and have been notified separately. Firms must complete the attached Screening Information Request form and submit to the Contracting Officer, Ms. Karen Czerwiec at 847-294-7801 or e-mail Karen.Czerwiec@faa.gov and the Contract Administrator, Mr. Dennis Shub/Acentia at 847-294-8050 or e-mail: Dennis.ctr.Shub@faa.gov by close of business January 27,2012. FIRMS THAT INTEND TO SUBMIT AN SIR SHALL REQUEST A COPY OF THE CONSULTANT REPORT FROM THE CONTRACTING OFFICER. THE REQUEST SHOULD BE E-MAILED AND THE REPORT WILL BE PROVIDED BY EMAIL. The work will be performed in strict accordance with the contract specifications. Contract performance time is 150 calendar days. The estimated price range for this procurement is $100,000.00 to $250,000.00. NAICS Code is 236220 VERBAL REQUESTS FOR THE SIR WILL NOT BE HONORED. The contractor awarded the contract must have active registration in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) before award can be made. Contractors can register at www.ccr.gov Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and certified 8(a) contractors are highly encouraged to submit a request for this project.
