Description
The Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI), has a requirement to procure 272 COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE Trauma Bleeding Simulation Systems (TBSS) for the Medical Simulation Training Centers. Based on the Government's requirement, the TBSS will replicate traumatic injuries and the profuse bleeding that they produce when encountered in a combat environment. The system must pair with human actors as the vocal reaction to the injury significantly enhances the training realism and is vital to the Army's training objectives. The system must also be able to be remotely controlled and be able to demonstrate arterial bleeding. The TBSS will consist of the Bleeding Simulator, the Remote Control, Ancillary Equipment and Consumables. TBSS components must be rugged for use in hot/cold/sandy/ muddy/wet/snowy operating environments and capable of withstanding rough handling by the user. The APM MedSim intends to make an award to Skedco of Tualatin, Oregon. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation which will be considered by the agency. Interested parties may email Mr. David Light at david.light@us.army.mil no later than 20 January 2012, 12:00 p.m. EST. A determination by the Government to proceed without a re-compete for this proposed contract will be based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. Closing Response Date for this Notice of Intent: no later than 20 January 2012, 12:00 p.m. EST. DISCLAIMER: This notice does not constitute an invitation for bids or a Request for Proposal (RFP) and is not a commitment by the U.S. Government to procure subject products. No funds are available to pay for preparation of responses to this notification. The Government will use the information received to determine whether other sources are available and capable to satisfy this commercial requirement.
