Description
The Air Force Research Laboratory Munitions Directorate, Munitions Energetic Materials (MEMs) Core Technical Competency (CTC) will host Industry Days on 13-14 March 2012. This event will provide a forum by which the MEMs CTC can communicate research opportunities, increase competition and improve collaboration by sharing specific information regarding Energetic Materials Research and Development with Industry. This is a technical interchange with government subject matter experts. The Munitions Energetic Materials research areas to be discussed include: overview of MEMs portfolio, current MEMs development efforts for specific applications available for near-term transition, and research programs for mid- and far- term. Specific details will be provided at Industry Day. During the event, the MEMs CTC will provide an overview of energetic materials goals and objectives, identify the specifics of research areas of interest, and discuss opportunities for collaboration and partnering. Attendees will be able to ask questions about the material presented and the content therein. Attendees will be able to schedule sidebar meetings with CTC leadership. All contractors that hold the requisite clearance level are welcome (limit 2 representatives per company). The MEMs CTC is hoping for a broad cross-section of the Energetic Materials research industry community to attend and participate. On March 13th, technical experts from the Munitions Energetic Materials CTC will provide information on ongoing programs in explosive research and development. Sidebar meetings will be scheduled on March 14th. Event Attendance and Sidebar Meetings: Those interested in attending must send an email stating their intent on attending to afrl.rwme.industryday@eglin.af.mil. Due to space constraints, only two representatives per company can attend. Registrations will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis up to the room capacity (208), after which a wait list will be established. Please note that registration information will NOT be available to the public. Sidebar meeting with CTC leadership will be available on a first come, first serve basis on 14 March. These meetings will be attended only by the contractor and government staff, so proprietary information may be discussed. A wait list will be created when slots are full to allow for any cancellations. Meetings are expected to be 30 minutes, but length of time allotted will be based on the number of requests received. Each meeting will be allotted an equal amount of time. During sidebar meetings, presentations are requested to be on specific energetic materials research rather than general company overviews. Presentation materials must be submitted no later than 5 March by mail on CD. Proprietary restrictions on presentations will be honored and presentations will not be shared outside the Government. Mailing address: AFRL/RWME, ATTN: Energetic Materials Industry Day, 2306 Perimeter Road, Eglin AFB, FL 32542. Meeting Access and Clearances: The preferred method is to send clearances via JPAS. AFRL's JPAS SMO code is AFRL-RW. If clearances cannot be sent through JPAS, additional paperwork is required for base access. Attendees will be contacted after registration with detailed information on base and meeting access. Logistics: The meeting will take place at the Eglin Conference Center on March 13th and the High Explosives Research and Development Facility conference room on March 14th. Detailed directions will be provided after registration. Note: This notice is being issued for planning and information purposes only. It does not constitute a solicitation, nor is it to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government will not pay for any effort expended in responding to the notice, or participation in the event (to include attendee travel costs), nor will the Government accept proposals as a result of this notice. Meals will not be provided at this event.
