Description
The Naval Sea Systems Command has a requirement for the accomplishment of the USS ENTERPRISE (CVN 65) inactivation and defueling beginning in FY 13. The accomplishment includes nuclear and non-nuclear inactivation work and preparation for towing. Additional planning efforts during FY 13 will be included in these requirements. The requirements include advance planning, documentation, engineering, procurement, shipchecks, personnel training, and shipyard work necessary to prepare, make ready for and accomplish the inactivation and defueling of USS ENTERPRISE (CVN 65), and the disposal of unneeded defueling equipment. The requirements will be solicited from Huntington Ingalls Incorporated - Newport News Shipbuilding, 4101 Washington Ave, Newport News, VA 23607. This requirement will be procured, without full and open competition, from the only qualified source capable of performing the inactivation and defueling of a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. Firms interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact Huntington Ingalls Incorporated - Newport News Shipbuilding directly. This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at https: www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) site located at https: www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for the posting of synopsis and solicitations to the Internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command.
