- Description
- The Maritime Department of the US Army Transportation School (ATSC), Fort Eustis, VA intends to issue a sole source 3-month extension to Akima Facilities Management, LLC of Charlotte, North Carolina, for continuation of Instructor Augmentation. Akima Facilities Management has performed this requirement since 1 November 2006 under contract W911S0-07-P-0001. The contractor shall present classroom instruction for Maritime and cargo handling subjects. Instruction includes Full Mission Bridge/Small Craft Simulation to include LCM 8, large and small tugs, LCU 2000, LSV, and TSV high speed vessel, bridge operation and navigation duties, and Barge Derrick crane. Training will be conducted by the utilization of current US Army vessels, equipment in conjunction with simulators that replicate the actual equipment. This proposed extension consists of a 3-month period of performance from 1 February 2012 through 30 April 2012, and will prevent an adverse impact on the Maritime Department of the ATSC. The performance work statement under this contract is not being revised and remains the same as under the current Option Period. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.
