Description
The contractor shall provide all supplies and services necessary for the care and disposition of remains of Army active duty, National Guard, and Reserve military personnel within the CONUS as well as Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. Supplies and services include: removal from place of death or where remains are located within CONUS, Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico; appropriate preparations (sanitation, restoration, and preservation) of human remains, basic reconstructive restoration, dressing, casketing, cosmetology, and shipment of remains with the possibility of some remains having to be shipped worldwide. Contractor shall maintain strict compliance with specifications and provisions outlined in Army Regulation (AR) 638-2, Care and Disposition of Remains and Disposition of Personal Effects and Department of the Army Pamphlet (DA Pam) 638-2, Procedures for the Care and Disposition of Remains and Disposition of Personal Effects. Contractor will be required to certify all supplies and services meet specifications in Block 13 of Department of Defense (DD) Form 2063 (Record of Preparation and Disposition of Remains). Contractor will need to be available 7 days a week 24 hours a day. This announcement is not a request for proposal. It is a market research tool being used to determine procurement strategy. Appropriate procurement strategy will be determined after consideration of industry response to this sources sought announcement. The government is not obligated to, and will not, pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this announcement. This solicitation is unrestricted. NAICS 812210 ($7.0 million) applies to this procurement. The Government anticipates a single contract award. All responsible business sources may submit an offer. The solicitation will be posted to the Federal Business Opportunities website at www.fbo.gov on or about 6 February 2012 with offers due on or about 7 March 2012. These dates are subject to change. All amendments to the solicitation will be likewise posted on this website. Contractors are cautioned to check websites periodically for amendments. Solicitation mailing list will not be complied and amendments will not be sent out in paper copy. All contractor must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) to be eligible for award of a contract. Faxed offers and amendments will not be accepted.
