- The Treece OU4 Subsite is located in Cherokee County, Kansas. This remedial action is for a portion of the mine waste located at this sub-site. The selected remedy consists of excavation, consolidation, landfill construction, and disposal of mine waste and associated soils contaminated with heavy metals. The remedial action shall be conducted in accordance with the specifications developed during the remedial design. The contractor shall be required to comply with all applicable federal, state, and the local laws and regulations. Remediation will be conducted pursuant to the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensations, and Liability Act (CERCLA), as amended by the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA), and National Contingency Plan (NCP) requirements. EPA anticipates issuing performance-based firm fixed-price lump sum contract consisting of two year period of performance. Estimated dollar value for this procurement is between $3 - $7 million.
