- NASA/GRC has a requirement for ( 1/ea) (NCA7-2-52975-20) Romer Absolute Arm 7520SI7-axis high accuracy arm with integrated scanner RS1, absolute encoders and 2.0 m range.Arm includes communication cable, and laptop computer (62144) for Laser Scanning System. Options to include (NCA7-5-52753) Arm Riser, (NCA7-7-20146) Silver Mounting Ring forAbsolute Arms, on-site training and two-year extended warranty.NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from Hexagon Metrology after a 2011 competitiveevaluation was conducted with only the Romer Absolute System meeting specifications,temperature ranges and training necessary to operate the test section environment.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon 01/24/2012.Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purposeof determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Adetermination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
