- Description
- The 47th Contracting Squadron at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas will be requesting proposals to provide all labor, materials, equipment and supervision necessary in the removal of old and for the installation of the new electronic control system for the BAK 15 Dual Runway and Tower Panel Control Aircraft Arresting System. The electronic control system shall interface and operate the four existing BAK 15 aircraft arresting systems located on the center runway (north and south) and on the outside runway (north and south). The four barriers require radio communications from a centralized station located at building 309 (Control Tower) and two Runway Control Structures (RCS) buildings 670 and 612. Remote control units with radio equipment are required at each of the four barrier net/stanchion locations. There will be a pre-proposal site visit conducted on 27 Jan 12. This will be an unrestricted acquisition. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334220. The package will be issued in the form of a Request for Proposal (RFP) and will be available for downloading from the internet on the Federal Business Opportunities (Fed Biz Opps) website at address: www.fbo.gov on or about 20 Jan 12. No hard copies will be provided. Once the solicitation is posted, it is incumbent upon the interested parties to review this site frequently for any updates/amendments to any and all documents. The closing date is tentatively scheduled for on or about 19 Feb 12. The anticipated award date for this acquisition is 01 Mar 12. All interested parties must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database prior to award of a government contract. Offerors are further advised that failure to register in the CCR database will render your firm ineligible for award. CCR can be obtained by calling 1-888-227-2423 or through the internet address: www.ccr.gov.
