- Statutory Authorization for NBIC RFI for DHS National Biosurveillance Integration System The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is seeking information on biosurveillance integration capabilities that will enhance the current system used by the Office of Health Affairs (OHA) National Biosurveillance Integration Center (NBIC). A number of barriers have been identified that prevent successful integration of all-source information for biosurveillance. Statement of Need: A comprehensive information technology system that enhances shared situational awareness of users across multiple domains to enable informed decision-making, and demonstrates incentives and value for participation to its extensive stakeholder community. Please see the attached RFI for additional information and for specifications of the requirement. The statutory authority for NBIC is also attached (Attachment 1).
