- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue a sole source, firm fixed price purchase order to Applied Biosystems, 850 Lincoln Centre Drive, Foster City, CA 94404, for annual preventive maintenance, to include parts, labor, travel, technical support and planned maintenance visits for a quantity of three (3) 3400 DNA Synthesizers, SN: 334000027, 334000034 and 334000023; and quantity of two (2) 3900 DNA Synthesizers, SN: 10245 and 100000007. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source will satisfy the Agency's requirements because this is the only service that can meet the requirements for preventive maintenance. Anyone other than Applied Biosystems authorized personnel attempting to repair or service the equipment would exclude Applied Biosystems from their obligations. No solicitation is being issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes/proposals, however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement which, if received by the response date, shall be considered by the Agency. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within discretion of the Government.
