- Description
- NASA has a requirement, which is the result of a modification to the statement ofwork of an existing contract James Webb Space Telescope Heat Strap Modification and MIRIShield Strap Modifications with Utah State University Research Foundation. Thisadditional procurement action involves modifying heat straps that mounts to the BackplaneSupport Fixture (BSF) and to fabricate a protoflight MIRI shield heat strap. NASA intends to procure the services from Utah State University Research Foundation(USURF) pursuant to 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1), in support of Goddard Space Flight Centers(GSFC) James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). Therefore, due to the nature of the work to be performed and Utah State UniversityResearch Foundations experience and accessibility to the current hardware and materials,it is necessary to award a sole source procurement to Utah State University ResearchFoundation under its existing contract with NASA. To award a new contract would not be inthe best interest of the Government under its existing contract with NASA.NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable. The installation Ombudsman is NancyAbell at (301) 286-5867.
