- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command intends to negotiate and award a sole source delivery order with Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation (SAC), Stratford, CT, under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-08-G-0010 for the non-recurring engineering, tooling fabrication and qualification of the H-53E Main Gear Box casting tools. SAC is the sole source designer, manufacturer, and integrator of the H-53 Heavy Lift Helicopter. SAC solely possesses the current configuration and manufacturing data to ensure the seamless integration with the air vehicle of the components produced utilizing the resultant tooling. The authority permitting other than full and open competition is Title 10, U.S. Code 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
