- Cold Weather Multilayer Garments The Air Force Uniform Office (AFUO) is currently gathering information from industry to gauge the market place, state of technology, and availability of a cold weather aviation system (CWAS) multi-layered garment. Specifically, gather information in regards to CWAS multi-layered garment consisting of a breathable combat aviation base layer, mid layer and outer layer garments that provide maximum cold weather protection and meet the performance requirements listed in this document.
