- Supplier Data Sheet This is a sources sought announcement only. This is not a solicitation and proposals are not being requested at this time. The purpose of this announcement is to gain knowledge of current market capabilities. Interested parties should complete and submit Form WV-0150, "Supplier Data Sheet and Business Size Certification Form" to the address listed below. The proposed scope of work is as follows: Provide CH2M Hill B&W West Valley, LLC (CHBWV) design, construction, and delivery of a High Level Waste (HLW) Storage System suitable for operation up to 50 years, to contain 275 High Level Waste (HLW) canisters, two Evacuated Canisters and 2-30 gallon drums of Spent Nuclear Fuel [SNF] debris and miscellaneous hardware at the West Valley Demonstration Project (WVDP). The system will include methods to safely package, transport from the Main Plant Process Building (MPPB) to the storage area, systems for loading the packaged canisters into the storage facility, a surveillance and maintenance plan, and licensing for future HLW shipping per 10 CFR Part 71. Specifically, the system will include: · Overpacks for the 275 HLW canisters suitable for insertion into a shipping container with a current10 CFR 71 Certificate of Compliance (C of C) such that the completed package will meet 10 CFR 71 licensing requirements, · Overpack for 2 Evacuated Canisters suitable for insertion into a shipping container with a current10 CFR 71 Certificate of Compliance (C of C) such that the completed package will meet 10 CFR 71 licensing requirements, · Overpack suitable for long term storage of 2 drums of SNF debris stored in a storage or transportation cask. · A on-site transfer cask to safely move the overpacks from the MPPB to the HLW storage system and facilitate the transfer of the overpack into the storage cask, · Transport vehicle(s) that can safely move the loaded transport cask from the location where the overpack is filled with waste to the storage facility, · Storage casks suitable for long term storage (up to 50 years), and · Ancillary Equipment that is required to facilitate the waste over packing, transport cask movement and emplacement of the overpacks into the storage casks. The scope of work described in this specification can be summarized as follows: Supply the HLW Storage System including material, fabrication, construction delivery, installation, testing, startup and training. All activities under this work are regulated by 10 CFR 830 Subpart A Quality Assurance and governed by DOE Orders 414.1D Quality Assurance and 460.1C Packaging and Transportation Safety. The design and construction of the HLW Storage System shall be performed in accordance with a quality assurance program that implements the requirements of ASME NQA-1-2008 with 2009 addenda. The HLW Storage System will be constructed and commissioned in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 830 Subpart B Safety Basis. The operations of the HLW Storage System shall be conceived and designed to maintain the capability of the packaged canisters to be inserted into a currently licensed 10 CFR 71 transportation system.
