- This is not a solicitation, but a notice of a Contract Action. The Mission & Installation Contracting Command, Installation Contracting Office, Fort Jackson intends to extend contract, W91247-10-C-0022, with the South Carolina Commission for the Blind, 1430 Confederate Avenue, Columbia, SC 29201-1914 for a period of six (6) months under FAR Clause 52.217-8, Option to Extend Services. This six-month extension of services is pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c) (1), "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements," as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. This notice is being posted since this option under FAR 52.217-8 was not previously evaluated as part of the initial contract award for W91247-10-C-0022. This option exercise will be at the current rates specified in the current contract, as allowed by FAR52.217-8 and will extend the period of performance end date from 29 Feb 12 to 31 Aug 12. The contractor is required to provide all services and equipment/property necessary to perform Full Food Services at Fort Jackson, SC. The scope of work for the extension will remain unchanged; only an extension of current services is required. The extension for required service will result in a modification to the contract and the issuance of monthly task orders. Competition will be sought for the follow-on contract. This action is to prevent disruption of services by providing continuity of services currently being performed on Fort Jackson. The period of performance for this extension will be from 1 March 2012 through 31 August 2012. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or a solicitation for offers. No award will be placed solely on the basis of this notice, since synopsis of intent to place an order cannot be considered a request for proposals or offers. Responses to this notice will be used to determine if bona-fide competition exists and whether a request for proposal is appropriate or feasible. Response to this notice must be made within seven (7) calendar days after the posted date.
