Description
Retaining Wall Repair: The following work will be performed at the Urbana Federal Building & U.S. Courthouse, 201 S. Vine Street, Urbana, Illinois. The scope of work consist of but is not strictly limited to, furnishing all of the labor, materials, and supervision for the repair of the retaining wall surrounding the access drive to the lower level. The wall is approximately 13'-8" feet tall above the lower drive level at its highest points, with the upper 4' extending above the surrounding grade, and clad on the outside with brick veneer to match the building. The side of the wall facing the lower level drive appears finished with a cementitious plaster coat. This retaining wall shows signs of extensive water penetration, including staining and cracking of the interior parged surface, spalling brick and limestone, deteriorated mortar joints. The repair work includes, but is not limited to: Cleaning, and preparation of the existing masonry and cement wall. The masonry wall will have pointing and spalling repair work completed. The inner cementitious wall and construction joints will be patched and recoated with waterproofing to remove any evidence of water damage. The existing limestone cap will be removed and replaced with a cap large enough o cover the width of the wall to prevent any further water infiltration. The existing broken and cracked concrete slab at the base of the wall will be replaced to allow for proper drainage. A new trench drain adjacent to the lower level side of the west retaining wall will be installed as a preventive measure to prevent water from ponding at the base of the wall. In addition, PVC weep holes will be installed at the base to prevent any groundwater from building up hydrostatic pressure against the wall. The work will be performed while the building is occupied. Offers will be accepted from small business concerns only; this is a total small business set-aside. The NAICS is 238140 the small business size standard is $12.0 million. The estimated cost is between $100,000 and $250,000. This is a negotiated procurement; there will not be a public bid opening. The solicitation will be available on or about January 4, 2012. The solicitation cited above can only be obtained by accessing a secure website known as the FedBizOpps. FedBizOpps (FBO) is a secure website designed to safeguard sensitive but unclassified (SBU) acquisition information. Also, all vendors are required by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), to use the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA0 IN Federal solicitations as a part of the proposal submission. Potential offorers will be responsible for downloading the solicitation and monitoring the website for amendments to the solicitation, if any. Offer due date and time for receipt of proposals will be February 3, 21012 at 4:00 PM (CST).
