- The Defense Logistics Agency Contracting Services Office-Battle Creek has a brand name requirement for Honeywell 4800i Handheld Barcode Scanners. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ) SP4707-12-Q-0014. Place of performance is Battle Creek, Michigan. Inspection, acceptance and F.O.B. are at destination, Battle Creek, Michigan. This requirement is a Total Small Business Set Aside. The NAICS code is 334111 and the size standard is 1,000 employees. The single evaluation factor for award is lowest-price, technically acceptable. The resulting contract or order will be firm-fixed price. This requirement is being offered on a brand name only basis. In order to be considered technically acceptable, vendors must offer the exact product described below. Offerors shall provide a price for each contract line item number (CLIN) in their quote. Offers with quantities of less than requested or products that differ from those requested will be deemed technically unacceptable. The purchase of the Honeywell 4800 handheld barcode scanners is essential to the DLA warehouse operation and future DLA Logistics Information Service migration. The Distribution Standard System (DSS) is configured to work with these scanners specifically. It is not possible to reconfigure DSS to use a different brand of scanner. Deviating from this brand would create support issues. Only the Honeywell 4800 will ensure compatibility and interoperability with DSS.
