Attachment A THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REOUEST FOR PROPOSALS. THERE WILL NOT BE A SOLICITATION, SPECIFICATIONS, OR DRAWINGS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. USACE Norfolk District is seeking interested firms capable of performing construction of three each approximately 20,000 gross square feet (GSF) applied instruction high-bay area building additions at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. Each addition to include climate control, overhead lighting of standard classroom illumination, epoxy coated floors, two traversing three ton hoists and supporting facilities to include all utilities; water, sewer, gas, underground electrical service; exterior lighting; fire protection and alarm systems; paving, walks, curbs and gutters; parking; storm drainage; site improvements; communications/information systems; and security measures. Heating and air conditioning (175 tons) to be self-contained systems. Project will include a total of ten 1.5 ton overhead hoists. Additionally, construct one 10,000 GSF applied instruction lab room building addition. This lab room addition can adapt a standard classroom design to provide 10 each labs for hands-on aircraft component training. Supporting facilities to include all utilities; water, sewer, gas, underground electrical service; exterior lighting; fire protection and alarm systems paving, walks, curbs and gutters; parking; storm drainage; site improvements; communications/information systems; and security measures. Heating and air conditioning (25 tons) to be self-contained systems. Connect to the Fort Eustis utility monitoring and control system (UMCS). Each classroom will require at least 13 computer drops and electrical circuits to support 13 computers. Provide special foundation to address varying soil conditions. Anti-terrorism/force protection measures include laminated glass and other minimum building design elements. Comprehensive building and furnishings related interior design services are requested. The target award of this construction is between $22,000,000.00 - $27,000,000.00. All qualified firms are encouraged to respond by submitting Attachment A. Upon review of the industry response to this Source Sought Notice, the Government should be able to complete acquisition strategy. The estimated award date is Spring of 2012. The NAICS Code 236220 will apply to the majority of this project. THIS SYNOPSIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. It is a market research tool being used to determine the availability and adequacy of qualified sources prior to finalizing the method of acquisition, best timing, and issuance of an award. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis. ALL interested contractors are encouraged to fill out the sources sought. Submit 3 projects similar in scope and size to the project described above, with a contract value greater than $22,000,000.00 and completed within five years of date of this sources sought (Attachment A). If experience is by your major subcontractor, please submit your subcontractor's information along with the prime contractor's information.
