- Description
- Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation, 600 Grumman Road West, Bethpage, NY 11714 on an other than full and open competitive basis in accordance with FAR 6.302. Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the E-2D air vehicle. The anticipated contract will fulfill a Fleet need for an extended range capability and greater endurance for battle space surveillance and targeting. The contractor shall perform the work to develop an In-Flight Refueling capability for the E-2D AHE including: the design, development, fabrication, assembly, integration, furnishing, test and evaluation, support, and documentation of an IFR capable E-2D aircraft; management of the program; systems engineering activities, integrated Logistics Support (ILS) to analyze the IFR support requirements and provide initial support capability for IFR; the preparation and delivery of technical information. As such, Northrop Grumman is the only source with the technical data and experience necessary to perform this effort in a timely and effective manner.
