- Description
- The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) intends to issue a sole source contract to the Gwinnett County Transit Authority (GCTA) for a duration of five (5) years. The proposed action provides access to GCTA transit fare media for NRC employees for official travel. GCTA only provides these services for 6 routes throughout the county. The other routes in the county are serviced by the Georgia Regional Transit Authority. The proposed acquisition is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR Part 6.302-1. A determination may be made by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice and it is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation is available. This procurement is being conducted under FAR Part 12. NRC intends to purchase the services from GCTA. The statutory authority which permits other than full and open competition is FAR Part 6.302-1(b)(1)(i), where only one responsible source and no other supply or service will satisfy agency requirements. GCTA is the only licensed public transportation provider, for these 6 routes throughout Gwinnett County, that can provide the required services. Interested parties may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 3:00 pm EST on December 15, 2011.
