- The U.S. Agency for International Development, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (USAID/OSDBU) in collaboration with USAID's Bureau for Democracy, Conflict, and Humanitarian Assistance (DCHA), Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) will host a Small Business Vendor Outreach Session on Thursday, December 8, 2011 from 9:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon at the National Press Building, Washington, DC. The Small Business Vendor Outreach Session will feature a presentation from a Prime Contractor that will discuss their current role in supporting the Agency's mission and relief efforts overseas. The agenda will also include a brief overview of the Prime Contractor's small business program and possible teaming opportunities in the near future. With facilities worldwide, USAID has diverse requirements for supporting its missions throughout the world. USAID is responsible for facilitating and coordinating U.S. Government emergency assistance overseas and to provide humanitarian assistance to save lives, alleviate human suffering, and reduce the social and economic impact of natural and man-made disasters worldwide. Contracts are awarded primarily for technical assistance but also for commodities and equipment, transportation services and occasionally, construction.
