Description

The NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk intends to acquire the short-term rental and maintenance of the fifty-one multi-function devices which are located at the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery in Washington, DC. This is a sole source action to be awarded as a purchase order to Xerox Corporation. Xerox is the owner and original manufacturer of the machines that are already in place at BUMED. It is not industry practice to rent multi-function devices for such a short time period nor would another firm be able to provide the services in such a short time period without degradation or break in those services. The Period of Performance is from 07 December 2011 through 30 April 2012. The proposed contract action is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 13.501(a).
