- PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE: The VA National Acquisition Center intends to issue Request for Proposal (RFP) VA797P-12-R-0004 for an unrestrictive procurement for Donepezil HCL and Salsalate for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Department of Defense (DOD), Indian Health Service (IHS) and Bureau of Prisons (BOP). The estimated annual usage for Donepezil HCL Tablets is as follows: (1) 123,522 bottles of 10mg Tablets in 30s; (2) 164,313 bottles of 10mg Tablets in 90s; (3a) 2,602 bottles of 10mg Tablets in 500s OR (3b) 1,301 bottles of 10mg Tablets in 1000s; (4) 14,690 bottles of 5mg Tablets in 30s; (5) 28,614 bottles of 5mg Tablets in 90s; and (6a) 253 bottles of 5mg Tablets in 500s OR (6b) 126 bottles of 5mg Tablets in 1000s. The estimated annual usage for Salsalate Tablets is as follows: (1) 3,749 bottles of 500mg Tablets in 100s; (2a) 14,724 bottles of 500mg Tablets in 500s OR (2b) 7,362 bottles of 500mg Tablets in 1000s; (3) 6,060 bottles of 750mg Tablets in 100s; (4a) 19,766 bottles of 750mg Tablets in 500s OR (4b) 9,884 bottles of 750mg Tablets in 1000s. The contract period for Donepezil will be for one year plus one pre-priced one-year option period while Salsalate will have two pre-priced one year option periods. The contract items will be distributed through the VA's Pharmaceutical Prime Vendor Program. Offerors must state the exact name (name that appears on label) by which the drugs will be supplied and have unique NDC numbers. Solicitation # VA797P-12-R-0004 will be electronically issued in commercial item format in accordance with FAR Part 12 on or about December 21, 2011, with a tentative closing date of January 10, 2012. The NAICS code for this procurement is 325412. Any future amendments and other miscellaneous documents will be available electronically for download at the following URL: http://www.fedbizopps.gov. No paper copies of the solicitation will be available, and no telephone requests for paper copies of the solicitation will be accepted.
