- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for a 7 DEGREE-OF-FREEDOM ROBOTIC SYSTEM that cansimulate various space robotic platforms and has to be available no later than February2012, the parts needed are:1 qty - SIA20D, DX100, w/brakes, w/4-m cables1 qty - HSC (high-speed synchronous controller) for DX1004 qty - secondary deadman switch1 qty - installationNASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Yaskawa Motoman Robotics.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 3:00 p.m. local timeon Dec 15, 2011. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
