- Sole Source Justification X-RAY SOURCE PACKAGE: The solicitation number is FA8601-12-T-0059. The NAICS Code is 334516 - Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing. The size standard is 500 employees. The government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) and FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii). The proposed source is SPECS Surface Nano Analysis Inc, Clearwater, FL. The purchase is for a dual anode X-ray source package including X-ray source, power sully and water flow control box. This acquisition is in direct support of the Air Force Institute of Technology and its directive to graduate students with experience using the latest in science and technology. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, any information received within five (5) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
