- Sole Source Synopsis Research and Development and Fabrication of Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF) Targets, Components and Component Technology (ICF Main Contract) Solicitation Number: DE-SOL-0003559 December 1, 2011 The Department of Energy?s (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) intends to award a contract to General Atomics (GA) by means of other than full and open competition pursuant to statutory authority 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1 entitled ?Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements?, in support of the DOE NNSA Office of Inertial Confinement Fusion, NA-11. This procurement is for a five (5) year period of performance, a three (3) year basic period followed by one 2-year option period. This procurement is contemplated to be a Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) follow-on contract to DOE NNSA Contract DE-AC52-06NA27279 for research and development and fabrication of inertial confinement fusion (ICF) targets, components, and component technology.
