- Notice of Intent - Sole Source Date posted:11/30/2011 Closing Date:12/06/20112:00 PM Mountain Time The Department of Veterans Affairs, SAO West, Network Contracting Office 19, intends to award a sole source commercial purchase order in accordance with FAR Parts 8.002 "Priorities for use of a Government Supply Sources" & FAR 8.405-6 "Limited Source Justification and Approval". This notice document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005.54, November 2, 2011. The North American Industry Classification Code [NAICS] is 339112 Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing and the size standard in number of employees is 500. The government has determined that Pentax of America, Inc. is the only source that can satisfy this agency requirement. The requirement is for an Endo Bronchial Ultra Sound Scope (EB-1970UK) that works in conjunction with the Hitachi 5500 ultra sound processor and the Pentax EPK-1000 and EPK-I video processor. This scope is a proprietary piece of equipment for both the Hitachi and Pentax processor needed for the VAMC Salt Lake City, 500 Foothill Blvd, Salt Lake City, UT 84148 All responsible sources under government contract may submit a response, which if timely received, will be considered by The Department of Veterans Affairs, SAO West, Network Contracting Office 19. This synopsis is for notification purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for bid or proposals. Any company that feels they have items that meet the needs of the Government must submit their technical data (2 pages or less) to support their claim. The information must explain the company's ability to overcome propriety information and their government contract number. The Government does not intend to pay for any information provided under this synopsis.
