- Description
- The AF Safety Center (AFSC) at Kirtland AFB, NM is requesting information to fabricate a display stand to mount a metal space debris object to display in front of their building. The stand will support a hollow metallic sphere with the following dimensions: circumference at the top is approximately three feet, the height is approximately 3.5 feet, and the base is approximately three feet. The weight of the object that the stand will support is approximately 140 pounds. The object will be placed in a stand that is suggested to be circular and be approximately four feet in height with supports that will withstand winds in excess of 70 mph and resistant to corrosion. The stand should also have the capability to rotate so all areas of the space debris can be viewed (this requirement may be waived if it's too difficult or costly). The stand will also include inserts or a placard where background information can be inserted or etched regarding background information on the displayed object. This is a request for information. No funds are available at this time.
