Description

Lewis and Clark National Historical Park intends to restore and rehabilitate recently purchased industrial second and third-growth forest lands within the Fort Clatsop Unit to forests that more closely approximate the structure, ecology, and appearance of forests during the Lewis and Clark Expedition of 1805-1806. This contract will cover the first step in the restoration process: Developing a strategy to accelerate the forest's conversion from tree farms to a forest more natural and unmanaged in structure, function, and appearance. The target is to prepare stands to eventually become the kind of old-growth, late successional forests that are now very rare in the area. An optional tour of the forest for any interested parties is scheduled for Tuesday, November 15, 2011, at 1:00 pm. Meet at Fort Clatsop Visitor Center, 92343 Fort Clatsop Road, Astoria, OR 97103. Plan to drive your own vehicle during the tour. SOLICITATION DETAILS: This is a best value procurement set-aside for small business concerns. The NAICS code for this project is 115310. The small business size standard is $7.0 million, average annual gross receipts for the past three years. All offerors must establish and/or maintain an active registration at http://www.ccr.gov and complete the online representations and certifications at https://orca.bpn.gov prior to the RFQ closing date.
