- Oak Ridge National Laboratory is seeking volunteer mentors with entrepreneurial or private sector senior management experience to guide the development and execution of commercialization plans for technologies developed under laboratory-funded research and development projects. Ideal mentors will have experience developing and marketing products based on new technologies in one or more of the following areas: clean and renewable energy technologies; applied materials technologies; computational technologies; chemical and molecular technologies; advanced instrumentation and communication technologies; medical devices; computational technologies; environmental remediation; nuclear science and technology. Mentors must be United States citizens and be willing to enter into a non disclosure agreement. Employees of non-US owned companies are not eligible. Mentors will be asked to coach a research team in the development and execution of a commercialization plan for new technologies. Mentors will also be asked to participate in monthly teleconferences with their research team and to participate in person in quarterly project reviews with a goal of bringing real world perspective to the research and commercialization process.
