Description
The purpose of this amendment is to include additional questions and answers as follows: 1. QUESTION: The requirement is to detect a target at 4km and identify the target at 2km. Are you looking to detect/ identify a NATO man sized target or NATO vehicle size target (target size make a significant difference in the optics used) at those ranges? ANSWER: USE OF NATO-SIZING OF PERSONS AND VEHICLES TO INFORM THIS OFFICE OF YOUR PRODUCT IS FINE. THIS OFFICE IS RECEPTIVE TO RECEIVING ANY AND ALL INFORMATION THAT INDUSTRY CAN PROVIDE ON ANY/ALL CAMERAS THAT HAVE THE ABILITY TO "DETECT" A VEHICLE OR PERSON (OR BOTH) SIZED TARGET(S) AT 4KM (MINIMUM) AND FURTHER "IDENTIFY" THIS SAME VEHICLE AND OR PERSON AT 2KM (MINIMUM). 2. QUESTION: Which specific (if any) MIL-STD's do you require? ANSWER: NO SPECIFIED MIL STANDARDS ARE PROVIDED. IF A PRODUCT BEING PROPOSED HAS ALREADY OBTAINED A MIL-STD RATING, PLEASE PROVIDE THAT INFORMATION. CAMERA SYSTEOM PROPOSED MUST BE RUGGEDIZED FOR USE IN THE CENTCOM AREA OF OPERATIONS. 3. QUESTION: Is the 20x requirement for both the IR and Day camera or the day camera only? ANSWER: PLEASE PROVIDE INFORMATION ON YOUR SOLUTION'S ABILITY TO ACHIEVE (OR NOT) ACHIEVE 20X ZOOM FOR BOTH IR AND DAY CAMERAS. 4. QUESTION: You mention that the camera is to be mounted on a 30 foot collapsible pole. Will a telescoping mast fit the profile of a collapsible pole? ANSWER: A Telescoping mast will fit the requirement. 5. QUESTION: If not can you please elaborate on what type of collapsible pole you are wanting to see? ANSWER: The REF is open to the Vendors proposal. 6. QUESTION: What will be the weight of the intended payload? ANSWER: The Lower the weight the better. The vendor needs to determine the equipment that will fill the requirements, and this will determine the payload weight. This will determine the size of the pole/mast to handle this payload.
