Description
On or about 14 NOVEMBER 2011, this office will issue Invitations for Bid for construction of the FY12 DORMITORY (168 RM), QJVF092001, MINOT AFB, ND. The solicitation will close on or about 17 JANUARY 2012. This solicitation is UNRESTRICTED AND OPEN TO BOTH LARGE AND SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION. A site visit is tentatively scheduled for 07 DECEMBER 2011 at 0900 hours (local time). Contractors interested in inspecting the site should contact the Minot AFB Resident Office, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, P.O. Box 8022, 5 Shawnee Road, Minot AFB, ND 58704; Telephone: 701-727-6127; Fax: 701-727-6128; e-mail: Trev.Albright@usace.army.mil. All inquiries for registration should be made a minimum of seven (7) work days in advance of the scheduled site visit to coordinate base access and place of assembly. DO NOT submit requests for plans and specifications to the site visit personnel listed above. See 'Obtaining Solicitation Documents' below. _______________________________________________________________________________ Project Description: (Approx. quantities) Construct a new 68,692 square feet, 168-room dormitory at Minot AFB, ND. Construction consists of reinforced concrete foundation and floor slab, brick masonry walls, shingle roof system, site improvements and parking, utilities, fire detection/protection, landscaping, pavements, communication support, asbestos abatement and demolition of two (2) existing dormitories and all other necessary support. Furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) procurement and installation will be a bid option, funded with 3400 funds. This project will comply with DOD antiterrorism/force protection requirements per UFC. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $15 million and $20 million. _______________________________________________________________________________ The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 540 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety. The electronic annual representations and certifications are effective until one year from date of submission or update to ORCA.
