Description
The U.S. Army, Army Contracting Command (ACC), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, on behalf of the Munitions Engineering Technology Center at the US Army Armaments, Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC), is contemplating the acquisition of a 3-Dimensional (3D) printer and components, including parts, expendables, printer software, and maintenance services, to allow direct manufacture of prototype models through 3-axis printing, greatly improving the timeliness of development.Interested sources should be capable of providing a three dimension printer, capable of manufacturing prototypes by liquid photopolymer, using a non-laser curing method. Prototype parts made by the printer shall have a tensile strength of at least 6000 pounds per square inch and be near-injection molded quality. Other features required include post-processing without use of chemicals (break-away support), a power requirement of 115 volts, 10 amperes maximum, and an overall printer footprint of 36 x 36 x 72 inch maximum. Part features shall include as a minimum: - X/Y Resolution: 0.005 inches (138 microns)- Z Resolution: 50 - 100 microns (adjustable) - Accuracy: +/- 0.008 inches- Vertical Build speed: up to 0.5 inch/hour Services required include repair and preventative services. The Government may purchase a single printer. Firms/companies are invited to indicate their capabilities by providing specifications, brochures, manuals, reports, demonstration video and provide information of previous experience related to this type of work. The information provided will not be return. All data should be sent at no cost to the US Government NO LATER THAN November 20, 2011 to the US Army ARDEC. The US Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market survey or otherwise pay for information solicited. The government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey.
