Description
The H-46/T58 (PMA226) Program Manager will host an Industry Day at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C. on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 from 9AM to 1 PM. The industry day will allow PMA-226 the ability to determine the range, scope and abilities of potential commercial partners in support of future Foreign Military Sales of H-46 aircraft. PMA226 is the Program Office for the USMC H-46 helicopter which is powered by the T58 engine. The H-46 is a tandem rotor helicopter that provides medium lift capability in support of USMC missions worldwide. The USMC is currently replacing the H-46 with the MV-22 Osprey but is actively pursuing Foreign Military Sales (FMS) opportunities for the H-46. PMA226 will provide information during this event on emerging requirements incident to the retirement of the H-46 over the next six years including the support of FMS activities and processes. It is anticipated that there will be multiple countries that are interested in procuring these aircraft via the FMS process. In support of any future FMS partners it is anticipated that opportunities will exist for commercial industry with a broad spectrum of supplies and services needed. The opportunities will cover the entire spectrum of aviation support from depot level maintenance, supply support, in country technical support, transportation etc in support of any foreign military sales customer.
