Description
I. OVERVIEW: THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This Sources Sought notice (Notice) is for market research purposes in determining interest and capability of potential vendors, with specific interest to small businesses, for this type of equipment only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government for any actual procurement of supplies or services. This Notice does not constitute a solicitation (e.g. Request for Proposal or Request for Quotations or Invitation for Bid) or a promise to issue a solicitation in the future. This Notice does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. The Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this Notice. All costs associated with responding to this Notice are solely at the responding party's expense. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENTS EXISTS AT THIS TIME. Responses to this Notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract or agreement. The BEP will not be obligated to pursue any particular acquisition alternative as a result of this Notice. Responses to this Notice will not be returned. Not responding to this Notice does not preclude participation in any future solicitation, if one is issued. Respondents are responsible for identifying proprietary components, interfaces and equipment, and clearly mark restricted or proprietary data and present it as an addendum to the non-restricted / non-proprietary information. In the absence of such identification, the BEP will assume to have unlimited rights to all technical data in the information paper. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the information submitted. II. PURPOSE: The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) is interested in and is seeking sources along with information regarding industry capabilities for Sheet-Fed Rotary Screen Presses with the purpose of being used in the development and production scale testing of features for possible application to United States currency. III. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS: Responses to the Notice should include the following: a. Company Information and Point of Contact ("POC"): • Company's Name • Street Address, City, State, and Zip Code • Statement whether the company is a large business or small business • Contact information for identified POC, including e-mail, telephone number and facsimile number. b. Capability Information: Vendors whose products/systems possess the above characteristics are invited to submit the following information regarding their capability for Sheet-Fed Rotary Screen Presses: 1) Product/system summary; with specific attention to; • Minimum and maximum sheet size • Minimum and maximum print area • Rated and maximum operating speed 2) A description of technical characteristics, capabilities and any other product/system options offered by the vendor not listed in the above requirements; 3) Any literature, photographs, diagrams and drawings of proposed products/systems; 4) General manufacturing and delivery lead times; 5) General budgetary cost information, 6) Information on how many products/systems have been delivered and a reference list of customers currently using these products/systems; and IV.
