- Description
- The Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCCD) located in Bethesda, MD has a requirement for the procurement of NXA 5126 Rubber Compound. The NAICS Code is 326299 and the size standard is 500 employees. The proposed purchase order is being solicited on a sole-source basis to Burke Industries, Inc of San Jose, CA. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source pursuant to FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii). This order is being procured in accordance with FAR Part 12 (Acquisition of Commercial Items) and FAR Part 13 (Simplified Acquisition Procedures). Burke Industries' rubber compound is the only manufacturer qualified to meet AA-26 specifications which include "first article performance testing," under classified working conditions. This is not a request for quotes and a solicitation package will not be issued. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
