- Description
- This is a sources sought announcement only and is not a request for proposals or quotes. The Department of Veterans Affairs Service Area Office (SAO) East is seeking to determine availability of business concerns with the capability to provide a blood flow and microstructure imager by optical coherence tomography (OCT), for animal use, to the San Francisco VA Medical Center (SFVAMC). SFVAMC is seeking equipment capable of imaging blood vessels in the brain non-invasively over a period of time (without opening the skull) in mice, and being able to calculate blood volume and flow velocity. The following statement of work is offered for information only. This is not all inclusive but rather a general idea of the type and magnitude of the requirement. 1.Blood flow and microstructure imager by optical coherence tomography for animal use, including: Superluminescent diode light source (1310 nm) giving an axial imaging resolution ~6 microns, 92kHz lines scan rate for data acquisition and display, imaging speed ranging between 20-250 frames per second with a real time display at ~10 frames per second. The system sensitivity to the blood flow is below 10 microns per second. Capable of blood flow imaging coupled with microstructural imaging. The system includes: Optical probe for mouse brain imaging; computer: QuadCore CPU w/ 12GB RAM and 2TB mirrored HD with a 24" monitor; Isolation optical platform to host the optical system; Stereotaxic stage with mouse adaptor; and Non-contact modified optical microscope stage. 2.On-site installation and user training, including installation of the equipment at SFVAMC and training of lab personnel how to perform image acquisition and blood flow/blood volume/flow velocity calculation. Firms with interest and capability to respond to this requirement should develop a short narrative including relevant experience and other information indicating and evidencing capability to successfully meet the aforementioned requirements. Interested parties should send their company information to Ms. Bailey Flask, email (preferred): Bailey.Flask@.va.gov., or fax: 412-822-3440. Company information must include business type e.g. Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business, Woman Owned Small Business, etc. Information should be provided no later than October 28, 2011.
