Industry Day VAR Industry Day Incoming VAR Instructions THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. THIS REQUEST IS FOR PLANNING PURPOSES, AND DOES NOT CONSTITUTE AN INVITATION FOR BIDS, REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS, QUOTES, OR AN INDICATION THAT THE GOVERNMENT WILL CONTRACT FOR THE ITEMS CONTAINED IN THIS NOTICE. THE GOVERNMENT WILL NOT REIMBURSE RESPONDENTS FOR ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH SUBMISSION OF THE INFORMATION BEING REQUESTED OR REIMBURSE EXPENSES INCURRED TO INTERESTED PARTIES FOR RESPONSES. Industry Day (General Session Only) - Protected MILSATCOM This Request for Information is to inform interested sources of USAF Space and Missile Systems Center, Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) Systems Directorate's (SMC/MC) plans to conduct an Industry Day at Los Angeles Air Force Base (LAAFB), El Segundo, CA on 28 Oct 2011. The Industry Day general session will outline MILSATCOMs plans for the next generation protected MILSATCOM enterprise to include a discussion on our immediate plans for a study and demonstration of affordable design concepts. The general session will be classified (SECRET/NOFORN). Attendance is voluntary and restricted to those with appropriate verifiable security clearances. Interested parties not pre-cleared to attend the general session at the classified SECRET/NOFORN level will not be permitted entrance. Sources interested in attending must submit an email to each of the POCs referenced below no later than seven days after this RFI is posted. The agenda for the general session will be provided to those firms/attendees cleared for attendance. The Government will not provide any reimbursement for attending this Industry Day general session. Attendance by small and small disadvantaged businesses is encouraged. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 517410. The small business size standard is $15 Million. Industry Day Registration Instructions: The general session will be held in building A-9 of the Aerospace Corporation complex located at 2310 East El Segundo Boulevard, El Segundo, CA on 28 Oct 2011. Sources interested in attending the Industry Day general session must pre-coordinate their visit with SMC/MC security and the Industry Day points of contact (POCs). Pre-coordination must be completed no later than 25 Oct 2011. To begin the pre-coordination procedures, please follow the instructions in Attachment A, "Industry Day Incoming VAR Instructions" and complete Attachment B, "Industry Day Security Clearance Form". Submit the typed and signed form to SMC/MC security. Ensure you indicate "Protected MILSATCOM Design for Affordability Risk Reduction Industry Day" in the POC field of the Industry Day Security Clearance Form. This is a mandatory step for all attendees. Due to space limitations, the total number of attendees each firm may bring to the general session is limited to 3 representatives. If the conference room attendance limit is reached, interested sources will be contacted to further limit the number of attendees. It is important to note that parking for this Industry Day is at the Aerospace Corporation complex which is limited. Carpooling, therefore, is strongly recommended. Upon arrival, please check in at the Aerospace Corporation Campus, building A-9 in the lobby (1st floor) to receive a badge. Disclaimers and Notes The following companies/organizations may be in attendance at the Industry Day general session: Federally Funded R&D Centers (such as The Aerospace Corp, Lincoln Laboratory, and MITRE); Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) contractors (such as BAH, LinQuest, and Tecolote); all are bound by appropriate non-disclosure agreements with the Government.
