- This is a pre-solicitation notice. NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Puget Sound will be soliciting for Fiber Optic Cable and related components to support base infrastructure in accordance with solicitation specifications. The materials will be utilized in support of NCTS Far East, Sasebo, Japan. This acquisition is anticipated to be negotiated on a sole source basis per FAR 13.501(a) with the following manufacturers ™ products: Corning and Panduit. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals prior to offer due date. A single award will be made for all line items. Terms will be F.O.B. destination--Freight Prepaid to Sasebo U.S. Navy Base, Sasebo, Japan. Contractors will only be reimbursed for actual shipping expenses incurred that can be proven and validated. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be posted to the NECO website on or about October 14, 2011 with proposals due by October 27, 2011. A Firm-Fixed Price, Supply type contract will be awarded in accordance with FAR Part 12 and Subpart 13.5, Commercial and Simplified Acquisition Procedures. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by NAVSUP FLC Puget Sound. This solicitation and any subsequent amendments will be posted to the NECO website: https://www.neco.navy.mil. Prospective offerors are responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation from this website and for frequently monitoring the site for any amendments. The Government is not responsible for any inability of the offeror to access the posted documents. Emailed completed solicitations are acceptable. No telephone or fax requests will be accepted, and no hard-copy solicitation/amendment will be mailed or faxed. Electronic submission of proposals/quotes via NECO is not available at this time.
