- Description
- The U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center, WMEC Product Line, will be issuing a Solicitation for Welin Lambie Davits, parts, overhauls, and support services. It is anticipated that a sole source, Requirements Contract containing one (1) base year and four (4) one-year options will be awarded using FAR Part 12 Commercial Supplies/Services and FAR Part 15 Contracting by Negotiation, as a result of the Solicitation. It is the Government's intent to negotiate solely with Welin Lambie Ltd. in accordance with FAR Part 6.3. All work is required to be performed in accordance with the Original Equipment Manufacturer's (OEM's) specifications, standards and recommended overhaul procedures for the specific Davit model. Technical data, drawings, special tooling/equipment, and software pertaining to Welin Lambie davits, parts, and services are propriety and are not available for release to the public. The non-availability of technical data precludes the Coast Guard from obtaining competition, and the OEM does not currently have any authorized distributors, dealers, or repair facilities. Proposals are not being requested at this time. The Solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps on or about 12/10/11. This date is estimated at best, and it is the Contractor's responsibility to monitor FedBizopps on a regular basis for release of the Solicitation and any Amendments.
