- This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought/Request for Information (RFI). This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an Invitation for Bid (IFB), nor is it to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The following information is provided to identify potential contractors who have the skills, experience, and knowledge required to successfully provide the described capability. The F-16 Modernization Section intends a 5-year, 1 Year Basic with 4 1 year options IDIQ contract for miscellaneous wire harnesses and kits to support F-16 aircraft. Over the last 6 months, the Section has ordered 30 different harnesses with an approximate quantity of 3,500. The harnesses can range in length from 2" to over 200". The harnesses can have a broad range of connectors such as coax, triax, bnc, ethernet, spade tip, etc. They will be made out of tin, aluminum, copper, etc. The harnesses range in types of material to include: shielded, non-shielded, coax, Ethernet and will range in gauges from 26 to 6. The harness may require that heat shrink material be applied and that they may require marking UID. Representative drawings of prior harness requirements are available upon request. The government is the releasing authority of these documents. When responding, please include the following in a package: 1. Company name and Cage Code 2. Company POC name, email address and phone number 3. Experience with same or similar items/capability, please describe. Information submitted should be pertinent and specific to that which is indicative of the offeror's capabilities to successfully perform this effort. Information provided should not exceed 10 pages. 4. Suggested NAICS Code. 5. Business Size Classification for NAICS and qualifications if any as a sub-category (i.e, 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, etc.). 6. Would your company be a prime or a subcontractor? 7. Lead time for task performance The government does not intend to contract on the basis of this request or otherwise pay for the information solicited herein. The information provided is considered market research and may be utilized by the AF in developing its acquisition strategy, State of Objectives, and Performance Specifications. Any proprietary information this is submitted may be used as a general concept buy specific information will be safeguarded as proprietary, if so marked. Copies of your submitted information will be distributed to the program manager, AF engineer and the contracting officer for review. Interested offerors should email response to the sources sought inquiry and the questions listed above to the Contract Negotiator. Responses should be submitted by 4:00 PM MST on 25 Oct 2011.
