- **THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION** The United States Marine Corps (USMC) is conducting a market survey to determine the availability of knee pad designs and material solutions that provide significant durability improvement in the Enhanced Flame Resistant Combat Ensemble (FRCE). The knee area of the FRCE trouser is often the first location that shows wear during use. The knees abrade after wear in harsh combat and training environments. The USMC seeks to improve / maximize the performance of the FRCE through the identification of materials and knee pad designs that meet requirements and characteristics outlined below. The intention of this RFI is to investigate potential material solutions as well as integrated and removable knee pads. See the attached RFI notice for more information.
